HUD Announces $180 Million for Choice Neighborhood Grants

Secretary Fudge presents an award in Tulsa.

On Thursday, Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Marcia Fudge announced the awarding of a total of $180 million in Choice Neighborhoods Implementation (CNI) Grants for the transformation of public or HUD-assisted housing and surrounding neighborhoods.

Secretary Fudge presented a $50 million grant to the Tulsa Housing Authority and the City of Tulsa in Oklahoma, while Deputy Secretary Adrianne Todman presented the City of Omaha and the Omaha Housing Authority with a grant of the same amount in Nebraska.

“Choice Neighborhoods awards are an investment in housing, people, and neighborhoods,” said Secretary Fudge. “When we invest in housing, when we build up communities and ensure that residents have access to grocery stores, schools, and health care, we can make a real difference in people’s lives.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the HUD secretary and deputy secretary as they award grants under the Choice Neighborhoods program.
  • For the president and his administration as they seek to support the restoration of neighborhoods.
  • For the recipients of the grants to use them to the maximum benefit of their neighborhoods and communities.
